Seasoning my new steel skillet with flaxseed oil! Let's see how this goes...

I just got a new steel paella pan that needs to be seasoned and I'm bringing you along for the process! This is my first time seasoning a steel skillet, as I have only seasoned cast iron pans in the past, and it's also my first time using flaxseed oil to season a pan. I have tried coconut oil and lard before for seasoning and, honestly, the results were just ok, so I'm excited to see how the flaxseed oil works out! I've heard that flaxseed oil is the best fat for seasoning steel and seasoning cast iron and I'm looking forward to finally putting it to the test myself. I hope you enjoy this half vlog, half tutorial as I work on this kitchen project!

Healthy AIRPLANE Snack Ideas! What a Dietitian Packs!

When you're flying, it's a good idea to have some snacks packed. If your airport has some food items that you love, that's awesome, but there are still some reasons why you might want to bring your own food with you. Maybe you have a tight schedule and won't have time to buy food at the airport. Maybe you don't want to spend money on airport food that is more expensive than what you can buy elsewhere. Maybe you just want to be prepared in case your flight gets delayed or you get stuck on the tarmac for an hour before your plane even takes off. Whatever your reason, packing some snacks with you is a good idea. A lot of people think that you can't bring food through airport security or are unsure about the TSA food rules and regulations. The good news is, food is absolutely allowed and you can bring it through security. The only thing you need to be careful about is any liquid or spreadable foods. They have to follow the same guidelines as any other liquids you're packing. In this video, I'm sharing some of my favorite healthy airplane snacks. These are all easy to pack and you probably have several of them in your kitchen already! I hope these airplane travel snack ideas help you when you're packing for your next flight!

- Ahi Chinchi Amarillo pepper

HEALTHY GROCERY HAUL! What a Dietitian Buys at the Store!

Ever wonder what a dietitian or nutritionist buys at the grocery store? Today, I'm showing you! In this video I'm showing you my healthy grocery haul from this week's shopping trip to Wegmans! This grocery haul is a good example of what my grocery shopping is like in the summer. Now that we are in farmers market and gardening season, I buy a lot less at the grocery store. Most of my produce is coming from the farmers market and garden right now, so the store is just for filling in the gaps and getting the items I can only get at the store. I'm shopping for two people, me and my husband, but I think you'll find this helpful (or at least interesting) no matter how many people you're grocery shopping for in your house.
